Meet at the trail head at 4723 NW Marine Drive at Spanish Banks Creek.
Ecology of a Temperate Forest impacted by logging, agriculture and introduced plants.
On this beautiful forest walk we will see how a native temperate forest impacted by man is recovering. Plant species will be identified. We will look at the work done in restoration of Spanish Creek, one of four “lost” streams of Vancouver brought back to life for salmon spawning. Planting & remediation at the mouth of Spanish Creek has been done to keep the waters cool & shaded to attract salmon.
