About Us

Our mission

The Dunbar Residents’ Association (DRA) is a registered non-profit society formed in 1989 as a forum for the concerns of the Dunbar community.

The DRA operates the Dunbar Community Patrol, a unique block watch-type service that has volunteer neighbours walking the streets and back lanes to keep eyes on our community.

The DRA administrates the Neighbours’ Mailist and provides this service in order to help Dunbar residents foster community, address the local needs of individual members, and discuss issues of importance to Dunbar.

The DRA publishes the Dunbar Newsletter twice a year, once before Salmonberry Days in May and again before the DRA’s AGM in October or November. Volunteers deliver over 6,000 printed copies of the newsletter to every house and business in Dunbar.

Membership in the DRA is $30 per household per year ($15 if a household member is 65 years or over) and runs from October 1st to September 30th. DRA meetings take place monthly. To be put on the agenda, call the DRA phone line 604-222-9824. Join the DRA or sign up for the Mailist by filling in the form on the Contact page.
